Our StoryWe have been friends for years as we were in the same year in High School, apart from Lauren having a crush on Josh in year 8 (along with a few other girls) we were always just friends. A few years after High School Lauren couldn't work out why Josh was sending her so many text messages and inviting her along to group outings only to ignore her (Josh is definitely not shy!). It didn't take long in our relationship to realise that this love was real and that we would one day be married. I had my suspicions that Josh might propose at some stage on our holiday to the Whitsundays, however it was such a shock to turn around and see Josh down on one knee on the deck of the Ferry from Hamilton Island to Airlie Beach! Josh had made my engagement ring made using diamonds from my late Nana's engagement ring which makes it extra special to me.

ThemeFun, relaxed and intimate winery wedding with great food, wine and company. Candles and flowers filled the two long tables in the reception area. Cupitt's is such a beautiful venue and we wanted to optimise the view.
DressI have always loved Collette Dinnigan's designs and absolutely adored all her dresses in the Woollhara store. The gown I chose featured double silk satin with a beaded motif. It felt absolutely amazing on and it felt like it was the exact dress I had been searching for. I teamed the gown with the stunning 'Lola' cuff by Johanna Johnson. It felt like such a waste to have my beautiful gown boxed up in a cupboard, so after it was dry cleaned I took it to Melanie from the Barefaced Bride so that another bride can experience a beautiful gown without the huge expense. I teamed the dress with vintage style red suede heels.
Bridesmaids' DressesThe girls chose their own dresses in navy from Alice & Eve, ASOS, Ashleigh Elizabeth Hamilton and Sportsgirl.

FlowersMichelle from Shady Fig, Nowra is a floral styling extraordinaire! Michelle has created so many beautiful bunches for me since opening her shop in Nowra it was a no brainer that Shady Fig would be our florist. The bridesmaid's bouquets were separate bunches of sweet pea, anemones, tulips and ranunculus in cream. As Michelle had promised, the cream against the navy blue dresses created a classic and elegant look. My bouquet included the flowers from the bridesmaids bunches as well as freesias and berries in cream and hints of yellow. Jars were filled with bright flowers on the tables throughout the reception and decorated the cake. This created a nice subtle contrast from the outdoor ceremony on the lawn into the restaurant for the reception.
The CeremonyThe ceremony was held on the lawns at Cupitt's with the creamery in the background. We met up for photos before the ceremony so we could spend more time celebrating with our guests. Virginia Mitchell wrote a beautiful ceremony for us and our close friends Jess and Adam did a wonderful reading of 'a lovely love story' a short children's book by Edward Monkton.
DecorationsThe table decorations featured Mason & Soy Handmade Candles hand poured into a mixture of collected jars and teacup sets that were my Great Grandmothers and Shady Fig provided jars full of beautiful bright flowers. We wanted our wedding to be quite simple and to let the beautiful view from Cupitt's take centre stage.
CakeDelish Baked Goods and figurines were made by Josh's Nan.
FavoursWe made chocolate caramel truffles to put in the 'goodies' bags. The name tags were also tied to the bag and doubled as place cards.
Reception/FoodCupitt's Winery and Restaurant. We wanted the wedding reception not to feel formal and orchestrated but more like a big dinner out with our closest family and friends.
MusicI walked down the aisle to Angus & Julia Stone covering "You're the one that I want", Josh heard it one morning playing on Triple J 'like a version' and rang to tell me he had found our song. Southerly Change played an acoustic cover of the Jezabel's "Endless Summer" for our first dance. Josh is a huge fan of Tenacious D and it is a tradition that Josh sings "Tribute" at any possible family or friend event. Most of our guests have learnt the words by now and all of our guests were on the dance floor were singing along as loud as they could.
Best memory of the dayThere were so many wonderful moments it is so hard to choose just one, from seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day, the ride to the venue with my Dad beaming next to me, to the moment we were pronounced husband and wife. We had the best day of our lives and wish we could do it all over again!
Wedding wisdomIt is important to remember that your wedding day is all about love, happiness and sharing the day with those you love. We wanted to minimize the last minute rush and stress as much as possible. We picked Cupitt's Winery because we trusted that it would be beautiful no matter what the weather was like and wouldn't require days of setting up. We made a few things like the lace bunting and chocolate truffles for an added personal touch.
What you loved about the areaWe instantly fell in love with Cupitt's Winery on our first visit there. The food and wine is divine and is one of Shoalhaven's best assets. Both of our family's stayed in separate houses in Mollymook for the weekend and we also had our pre-ceremony photos down at Jones Beach in Mollymook. The added bonus to our wedding being held down the coast was that we could stay at Bannister's Resort (http://www.bannisters.com.au/) for a couple of nights after the wedding as we were not jetting off to our honeymoon to Jackson Hole and Las Vegas until January 2013.
