GuestsWe had 24 Guests, all close friends and family.
ThemeWe really wanted a relaxed beach wedding that was intimate and captured all the natural beauty of South Coast
DressI really wanted a wedding dress that was not too casual but practical enough to wear on the beach so I went online to get some ideas and found the perfect dress.
Bridesmaids' DressesNo bridesmaids or groomsmen
InvitationsI worked with Jo Martin from the Invitation Place to create the most beautiful invitations that set the theme for the whole wedding. They were predominately made from a natural card material and had a beautiful teal and gold Japanese silk paper over the top which was held in place by raffia and finished with a starfish and shell
FlowersThe flowers were the hardest decision for me. I agonised for weeks between lilies, roses, orchids, tulips and gerberas so I left the decision up to Peter at Flamingo Florist in Nowra. All I told him was that I wanted something bright and beautiful and that is exactly what I got. He made the most beautiful bouquet that was so bright and beautiful, it was filled with bright gerberas, lilies and roses. I really could not have been happier!
The CeremonyThe ceremony took place at 4pm on the beach out the front of the property we rented at Hyams Beach. Robyn Lenehan was the celebrant for the ceremony, she added the warmth and intimacy that we wanted and helped us come up with the perfect vows to unite us as husband and wife.
CeremonyThe decorations on the beach were set up by Jenny Willmott. We had and arbour with a shell curtain which reflected natural light from the sun.
ReceptionTo keep the natural shabby chic eclectic theme we hired the tables ,white tiffany chairs and heshian table runners from Paul at Yes Events and asked Peter (Flamingo Florist) to deliver a few flowers to place on the tables between the candles. It looked absolutely amazing and again created the intimate feeling that we wanted. The food was organised with Corrinne at Duck Duck Goose Catering. It was absolutely amazing and still to this day we have our guests talking about how good it tasted
CakeWe had no idea what we wanted for the cake so we went to Mary Ahonen and she gave us a few ideas on some beach designs and let us sample some flavours. She created a beautiful cake that captured our beach theme, it had two layers the bottom layer was chocolate flavoured and the top was caramel.
What you loved about the areaThe natural beauty!!The south coast has so many beautiful beaches and natural parks. We knew from our first trip to Huskisson that we wanted to get married somewhere in the area.
